What you can monitor

Six protocols. One platform.

Every UptimeHunt check runs the same way — scheduled from multiple locations, confirmed across regions. Point it at whatever your stack depends on.

HTTP / HTTPS

Endpoint health with full request timing.

  • GET, POST, HEAD with basic & bearer auth and custom headers
  • DNS → TCP → TLS → first-byte phase breakdown
  • Full certificate chain and expiry

Ping / ICMP

Reachability and round-trip latency.

  • IPv4 and IPv6 targets
  • Min / avg / max RTT
  • Packet-loss percentage

DNS

Resolution time and record correctness.

  • A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, CNAME
  • Query time and per-record TTL
  • Optional custom nameserver

SMTP

Mail server availability and capabilities.

  • Banner and EHLO capability list
  • Optional STARTTLS upgrade
  • TLS certificate inspection

SSH

Service reachability and version.

  • SSH-2.0 identification banner
  • Software and version (e.g. OpenSSH_9.6)
  • Optional host-key fingerprint

Game servers

Live player counts and server status.

  • Quake 3, Source / A2S, GoldSource
  • Minecraft Java and Bedrock
  • Map, game type and player roster

Assertions and expectations (response-time thresholds, content and certificate rules) are available on Pro and above.

Global coverage

Checks from where your users are.

We run probes in 9 locations today across 2 continents, and we're expanding toward 34+ worldwide.

Probe IPs and hostnames are published so you can whitelist them in firewalls and WAFs. See probe IP list The live list updates automatically from the API on each deploy.

Smart alerting

One incident. Not ten pages.

A single probe having a bad second isn't an outage. UptimeHunt scores every probe result, classifies the blast radius across regions and ISPs, and only raises an incident when enough of the network agrees.

  1. 01

    Score

Each probe result is weighted by recency and error type — a hard DNS/TLS/5xx failure counts for more than a single timeout.

  2. 02

    Classify

Failures are grouped into a scope: global, regional, single-ISP, single-area, or intermittent — so you know whether it's you or the internet.

  3. 03

    Confirm

An incident fires only above a confidence threshold you control. Isolated blips are logged, never paged.

Rolling out

Detection runs in production today, delivering over email and webhooks. Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat and Mattermost are rolling out — track them on the roadmap below.

Built to integrate

An open platform, not a walled garden.

Everything in the dashboard is in the API — and a few things aren't in the dashboard at all.

  • REST API

Versioned /api/v1 for every resource. JWT for users, long-lived API tokens for automation.

  • Kubernetes auto-discovery

An operator watches your Ingresses and mirrors them into HTTP checks — add/update only, driven by annotations.

  • MCP server

mcp.uptimehunt.io exposes the API as tools for Claude and other AI clients over OAuth 2.1, with per-owner isolation.

  • API tokens

Scoped, revocable uh_-prefixed tokens. Only the hash is stored; the secret is shown once.

bash
# Create an HTTP monitor
$ curl https://app.uptimehunt.io/api/v1/services \
    -H "Authorization: Bearer uh_••••" \
    -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
    -d '{ "type": "http", "name": "API", "url": "https://api.acme.dev/health", "interval": 1 }'

AI-native

Talk to your monitoring.

Connect Claude — or any MCP client — to UptimeHunt over OAuth 2.1. Ask about uptime, incidents and performance in plain language, and manage your checks without leaving the chat.

  • Ask in plain language

“Is the API down? Which regions are failing? How slow was checkout this week?” Claude calls the read tools and answers from your live monitoring data.

  • Manage by conversation

Grant the write scope and Claude can create, update, pause and delete checks for you — every change goes through the same /api/v1 the dashboard uses.

  • Yours only, by design

OAuth 2.1 with per-account isolation: the connector forwards your token to the API, so Claude only ever sees what your user owns. Read-only until you grant write.

Illustrative. Claude calls the same /api/v1 your own tokens can — see docs.uptimehunt.io

Live

The MCP server runs in production at mcp.uptimehunt.io. Read tools work for any connected client; creating, updating and deleting checks require granting the write scope when you connect.

Pricing

Pay for usage, not features.

Real cost is bandwidth and stored results — so that's what you pay for. How often we check, how many probes confirm it, and how long we keep the data. Features stay open across plans.
